Why Donate?

Fundraising dollars are an investment into tomorrow’s leaders, young men and women who think clearly and listen carefully with discernment and understanding, who reason persuasively and articulate precisely. Please take a moment to complete our online donor form (monetary or service/item) or volunteer form. Your commitment to donate an item, provide individual or corporate sponsorship, or volunteer is a crucial component to the success of our fundraising efforts. Since Cary Christian School is a non-profit organization, donations to the auction may be tax deductible. It is important to note that CCS receives no outside funding from federal, state, or local government. We rely on the continued generosity of like-minded families and businesses. Thank you in advance for your assistance to our students and our community.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the purpose of the auction?
Proceeds from this year’s event go specifically toward funding phase 2 of the science lab enhancement.

What is Goodness Grows Benefit Gala?
It is a festive evening that consists of dinner, entertainment, and both live and silent auctions. It is a major fundraiser for the CCS school year, as well as being a fun-filled night of fellowship.

When and where is Goodness Grows Benefit Gala?
Please plan to attend the auction on Friday, February 19, 2016, at Prestonwood Country Club. The evening starts when the doors open at 6:00 p.m., beginning with the silent auction. Entertainment, a dinner buffet, and the live auction follow.

Who can attend?
One of the goals of the auction is to bring the parent community together; the more, the merrier. You don’t have to have a child at CCS to attend. We welcome all parents, alumni, neighbors, and friends. Please make a reservation in advance if you plan to attend.

What shall I wear?
Many like to dress according to the auction theme! This year’s theme is “Goodness Grows,” so think dressy garden party – guys in ties, girls in pearls! Otherwise, dress attire is standard for the event.

What is the dinner menu for the auction?
Prestonwood Country Club has an excellent buffet that has been customized by the Auction Committee to offer an outstanding variety of delicious entrée and side items. Dessert and coffee will be served during the live auction.

What is the ticket price?
The cost is $75 per person or $900 for a table for 10. If you would like to make a reservation, please click here.

What if I cannot attend the auction?
You can still bid on your favorite items by filling out this Proxy Bidding Form. Form must be received by noon, Feb. 17.

Can I afford to bid on items at this event?
Yes! The Procurement Team makes sure that there is a wide range of items up for bid, with a starting as low as $10. This is a great event to visit with friends and get to know other Cary Christian families.

What is the source of the auction’s items?
With so many organizations now depending on auctions to raise funds, merchants are inundated with requests for donations. As a result, most businesses prefer to give auction donations to regular customers. The Procurement Team needs the support of all CCS families to meet our goal this year. We ask that each family consider a personal donation to either the auction or provide us with the name of a local business that we can solicit for a donation of goods or services. If you have attended our auction or attend this year, please thank our sponsors and donors who you know and patronize.

What items will be available for bid at the auction?
EVERYTHING! Our auction item list includes trips, parties, jewelry, athletic equipment, class projects (created by your children), sports memorabilia, home décor, and many other very exciting items! For a complete preview of all items, check back on our web page as the event nears.

What can I donate?
We can use almost any new merchandise, service, or special event opportunities such as tickets to college or professional athletic events, condos, a boat-for-a-day to fish/ski/sail, cookies for a month, and so on!

What is Fund-A-Need?
Fund-A-Need is a special activity that happens during the Live Auction. CCS identifies a special school project for which funds are needed. Guests have the opportunity to donate money toward achieving this project. A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated.

Can I make a monetary contribution?
Yes, monetary contributions are greatly appreciated and can come in several forms. Please consider sponsoring the auction. Various levels are available.  To view sponsorship opportunities, please click here. If you don’t know what to donate, consider a cash donation, and our personal shopper will pick out a special item for inclusion in the live or silent auction.

How do donors benefit?
All donations are tax deductible. Donors are listed in the auction catalog distributed to all attendees. By donating, you know that you are making a meaningful contribution and that you are also demonstrating your commitment to CCS.

How do I pay?
Cash, check or credit card will be accepted.

Will the auction committee accept an item given early in the year, have it picked up, and store that item until auction time?
Yes. Please email Robin Muse, and pick up will be arranged.

How can I help?
In addition to giving a monetary or tangible donation, the CCS auction needs lots of volunteers! Everyone is welcome, and there are plenty of areas where we need help. To volunteer, please complete this form, and you will be contacted soon by a member of the Auction Committee.

How can I get more information?
Please email Gwen Thomas with any questions or comments.
